Hi Mama,

If the holidays have arrived and you already feel tired… welcome. You’re in excellent company.

Between the snacks, the mess, the questions (“What are we doing today?”), the expectations, the family dynamics, and the mysterious disappearance of clean socks, it’s a lot. And somehow, you’re meant to enjoy it all.

No pressure.

Let’s be honest: holiday overwhelm isn’t because you’re doing it wrong.
It’s because you’re doing everything.

A few permission slips (you may keep these)

Meals do not need to be impressive
Kids can be bored and survive
Not every day needs an activity
You don’t have to attend everything
You are allowed to sit down

Seriously…sit down.

How to enjoy the holidays without losing your mind

1. Pick one thing that matters
One tradition, one plan, one small moment you care about. The rest? Optional.

2. Lower the bar. Then lower it again.
If it’s safe, kind, and everyone’s fed — congratulations. You’re winning.

3. Share the load (even if it’s not done “your way”)
Delegating isn’t failure. Control is overrated.

4. Steal tiny moments for yourself
A quiet coffee. A locked bathroom. A walk around the block. Micro-breaks count.

5. Say NO without a PowerPoint presentation.
“No, that won’t work for us” is enough.

One last thing…

You are not just the holiday manager, snack provider, emotional support system, and event coordinator.

You are a person.
And you deserve to enjoy this too — even if that enjoyment looks like hiding in the kitchen eating chocolate. 🍫

No judgment here!

Wishing you calmer moments, lower expectations, and at least one hot drink you don’t have to reheat. 💛

Let’s stress-less together,
Dr. Jenny Yip
